SBI Investment Portfolio Company RaonSecure Joins Jeju’s Integrated Digital Identity Project… Building a Blockchain DID-Based Digital Wallet

• SBI Investment portfolio company RaonSecure is participating in Jeju Special Self-Governing Province's project to build an integrated digital identity system. The project will consolidate the identity and eligibility information of Jeju residents, honorary residents, overseas Jeju residents and bereaved families of the April 3 Incident into a single mobile digital wallet, with a pilot service targeted for January next year.
• By combining decentralized identity (DID) technology, the same technology used for Korea's national mobile ID, with verifiable credentials (VCs) and blockchain, the entire process from issuance to verification is protected with encryption. The service will extend beyond eligibility checks for public facilities, tourism and public transportation to local currency, digital tourist passes and private partner services.
• Lee Soon-hyung, CEO of RaonSecure, said, “Digital authentication in the Web3 era must become trust infrastructure,” expressing the company's commitment to expanding the digital authentication ecosystem.
