SBI Investment Portfolio Company RideFlux Launches Korea’s First Paid Autonomous Freight Service… Cutting Transport Costs to as Little as One-Twentieth

  • RideFlux, an autonomous driving technology company that SBI Investment has backed since its early days and supported with follow-on investments, has partnered with Hanjin to launch Korea's first paid long-haul autonomous freight service on expressways. Operations started with three trucks, with plans to expand the fleet to about 100 by 2028.
  • By applying Level 4 autonomous driving technology, the service cuts operating costs to between one-tenth and one-twentieth of conventional levels and has proven highly efficient, with a single control operator able to remotely manage 10 to 20 vehicles.
  • Having received ‘A’ ratings in the evaluation for a technology-based special listing, RideFlux is targeting a KOSDAQ listing in the second half of this year and, once established in Korea, plans to enter overseas markets such as Japan and Southeast Asia.
