SBI Investment Portfolio Company DTS Puts New ORC Waste Heat Power Business on Track… Targets KRW 50 Billion a Year Within Five Years

  • DTS, an SBI Investment portfolio company and a global top-tier heat exchanger manufacturer, is ramping up its new ORC (Organic Rankine Cycle) business, which converts industrial waste heat into electricity. Starting with KRW 13 billion in orders this year, it aims to grow the business to KRW 50 billion a year within five years.
  • After beginning market analysis in 2022, forming a strategic partnership with France's Heatlift in 2023, and securing an ORC turbine license and building a prototype in 2025, the company has begun commercialization this year. The global ORC market is projected to grow at an average annual rate of 14.6%, from approximately KRW 5 trillion in 2024 to approximately KRW 19.5 trillion in 2034.
  • Beginning with its first incineration plant reference, the business is expected to expand into high-heat industries such as steel, petrochemicals and cement. The company's growth is expected to be supported both by the energy supercycle in its core business, which generates 90% of revenue overseas, and by the eco-friendly megatrend behind its new business.
