SBI Investment Portfolio Company XCENA Becomes the First Korean Fabless Company to Present in a Regular Memory Session at ‘Hot Chips 2026’

  • XCENA, an SBI Investment portfolio company and fabless semiconductor developer, presented ‘MX1,’ its CXL-based computational memory device, in the memory session of ‘Hot Chips 2026,’ the world's most prestigious semiconductor conference, held at Stanford University in the United States on August 25. It is the first time a Korean fabless company has been selected for a regular session in the memory track at Hot Chips.
  • MX1 is an architecture that brings memory capacity expansion and compute functions close to the data, reducing unnecessary data movement between processors and memory. It comes in two models, the compute-focused ‘MX1 Compute’ and ‘MX1 Expand,’ which concentrates on expanding server memory capacity, and the technology was presented in collaboration with Samsung Electronics.
  • Within three years of its founding in 2022, XCENA was valued at approximately KRW 800 billion when it raised a KRW 200 billion Series B round. Ahead of the start of mass production in the second half of this year, it is accelerating its entry into global markets, including validating its products with a major North American cloud provider.
