SBI Investment Portfolio Company Youngkwang YKMC Approved in KOSDAQ Preliminary Listing Review… Targeting KOSDAQ Debut Within the Year
- Youngkwang YKMC, a specialist in core semiconductor and display components in which SBI Investment has invested, has received approval in its KOSDAQ preliminary listing review from the Korea Exchange. Starting with the filing of its securities registration statement, it will enter the full IPO process, including book-building and public subscription, with Daishin Securities as lead underwriter and the goal of debuting on KOSDAQ within the year.
- After participating in its Series A in 2020, SBI Investment led its Series B even during a period of temporarily weak performance caused by a downturn in downstream industries, supporting follow-on fundraising and the normalization of the business as an anchor investor. As a result, Youngkwang YKMC returned to profit last year with revenue of KRW 51.6 billion (up 39.3% year on year), operating profit of KRW 4.5 billion and net income of KRW 2.7 billion.
- With a one-stop production system built on its ‘anodizing’ metal surface treatment technology and covering everything from raw material procurement to machining, surface treatment, assembly and packaging, Youngkwang YKMC recorded overseas sales of KRW 27.4 billion (53.1% of total revenue) last year, securing growth drivers in global markets such as the United States and Southeast Asia. SBI Investment will continue to provide early-stage investment and scale-up support to help innovative companies establish themselves in the capital markets.
